Lord Laird's

Premium Lemonade

2019

Kayla Laird owns Lord Laird's Premium Lemonade. The lemonade gets it's unique qualities from the Aloe Vera and Honey it's made with.  She currently sells 4 flavors and hopes to move from event sales to retail.

During this transition she hopes to revamp her logo, branding and bottle packaging.

Logo History

Kayla wished to exude a sense of royalty for her brand, given the brand's name is Lord Laird's. We looked at lots of possible design directions through Pinterest, drawing most of the inspiration from very ornamental patterns.
Existing packaging was well received, but to match the new branding this would need a revamp.
When deciding on visual elements to include, I thought about the uniqueness of the main ingredients of Aloe Vera, Lemon and Honey and wanted to find a way to combine visual elements of all three in a subtle way.
To tie it all together I considered typical royal imagery like a crown or a seal. I found an image of one of Lord Laird's owners wearing a jacket they had made for the company with a scepter graphic on the back.

I thought about how cool would it be to create a lemon shaped scepter with Aloe Vera leaves and honey inside. The Aloe Vera leaves and lemon executed well, but I stumbled over what type of visual element to best represent honey.

The scepter is framed by a wax seal graphic giving it the premium look and feel that matches the quality of her drinks.

Packaging Concepts

The premium nature of the product, meant the new packaging needed to reflect that. I looked for inspiration from products consumers associated with a more premium feel, like wine and liquor packaging.
